We rounded up February 2025 with this fantastic project in Golders Green, London. The client had spent quite a bit of money extending the rear section of the house and Ultima Coatings were brought in to handle the waterproofing.
The extension comprised around 25sqm of new space, with a lovely skylight to allow natural sunlight to filter into the house. Our remit was to make this area watertight and to ensure that none of the roof’s weak-points would cause any trouble in the future.
We began by detailing between the ply woods, ensuring that those pesky little seams wouldn’t lead to any trouble in the future. We continued detailing along the perimeter of the flat roof to guarantee that those tricky 90 degree angles are properly protected. Finally, we protected the penetration point between the skylight and the roof, which is one of the most common points of water penetration.
All of these was done with our 3-Course Method, which involves the use of the WetSuit Undercover in conjunction with our reinforcement fabric, the Invisilink. The 3-Course Method ensures that any weak areas where water might penetrate more easily and properly reinforced and given further protection.
The final result is our completely seamless membrane with the WetSuit 2-Part. With an elongation of over 2000%, our membrane will never crack or tear. The 20-year manufacturer’s warranty and our 10-year installation warranty, provides our clients with peace of mind that their new space is fully protected.
