    How can I become a certified WetSuit® applicator?

    To become a certified WetSuit® applicator, follow these steps:

    1. Complete the “Become an Applicator” form.
    2. Schedule a pre-qualification review with Ultima Coatings.
    3. Upon approval, schedule a training session with Ultima Coatings.

    Do I need specialised equipment to apply WetSuit® material?

    • WetSuit® 2 Part: Yes. The successful application of WetSuit® 2 Part relies on the precise mix ratio, requiring the patented WetSuit® dispensing equipment, custom-designed spray gun, and tips, all available from Ultima Coatings. This specialised equipment maximises product performance, increases production efficiency, and reduces labour costs and product waste.
    • WetSuit® 1 Part, WetSuit® Trowel, and WetSuit® Undercover: These products can be applied through the WetSuit® pressure pot system or using a roller brush, trowel, or mastic brush.

    What is the difference between WetSuit® 2 PART and WetSuit® 1 PART?

    Ultima Coatings’ WetSuit® 2 PART system features a catalyst (part B) for an 80% cure within the first three seconds, allowing for a single-coat application at any mm thickness. WetSuit® 1 PART is a single-component system with similar chemistry and physical properties but lacks the instant set properties of the 2 PART system.

    How many square feet will a WetSuit® 2 PART 208L kit cover?

    Coverage depends on the application, substrate surface profile, and specified thickness. For example, in a roofing application with a smooth surface at 1.5mm thickness, the yield is approximately 18 sqft (1.6 m²) per 3-4L.

    What is the minimum dry mm thickness of the WetSuit® liquid applied membrane?

    The minimum thickness varies by project type:

    • Roofing: 1.5mm dry
    • Waterproofing: 1.5mm dry vertical, 2.5mm dry horizontal
    • Air vapour barrier: 1mm dry.

    How many square feet can be applied in a day?

    A three-man crew can apply between 12,000 to 15,000 sqft per day at 1.5mm dry once the substrate has been prepared and pre-detailing executed.

    What are the application temperatures?

    WetSuit® should be applied at temperatures of 1.6°C and rising. Avoid freezing conditions or substrates exceeding 93°C. Follow MMFT guidelines, with substrate temperature higher than ambient temperature.

    Does WetSuit® come in other colours?

    WetSuit® is currently available only in black, but reflex acrylics and HarcoSil silicones offer various colour options.

    What topcoats do you recommend?

    For reflective coatings, use HarcoSil or REFLEX™ coatings as topcoats over WetSuit®. These topcoats can also serve as standalone reflective elastomeric roof coatings.

    Which substrates can WetSuit® be applied to?
